Cybersecurity
Cybersecurity is not just about firewalls and antivirus. It is much broader than that. It incorporates every person, system, process, and data within your company. A fundamental culture is required to make security an everyday component of the way you do business. Let’s look at some statistics related to the cost of cybersecurity failure:
– As reported by Kaspersky and Ponemon, 90% of OT Organizations experienced at least one damaging cyber attack over the past 2 years with most reporting between 2 and 4 in the past year alone and large companies reported nearly $500,000 dollars in annual losses due to cyber incidents.
– The global average cost of a breach continues to increase and is now $3.86 million dollars with the average cost for each lost or stolen record continuing to climb 4.8% annually to $148.
– 67% of OT companies in these studies wanted to improve their ability to address attacks that are continuously increasing in sophistication and stealth. It is critical to note that in some attacks it’s been shown that the attacker was hidden in the network for months prior to being detected. It should make each of wonder who could be hiding in our network right at this moment.
– And most telling is that over the past two years, over half of the surveyed companies suffered an exploit triggered by an internal resource that resulted in downtime of the OT environment.
The reality is, that breaches are expensive, time-consuming, and in many cases, arguably prevented by training and a more robust security posture.
Let RevelationSCS help you formulate a strategy for implementing a cybersecurity practice throughout your business. This includes assisting you in one more more areas such as:
– Reviewing your current security posture and generating a report summarizing your current state
– Establish an initial Disaster Recover/Business Continuity program ensuring long term survivability in times of crisis
– Baseline security assessments to help identify vulnerabilities within your network
– Establish a Vulnerability Management Program (VMP)
– Working with your development organization to establish a Security component to your DevOps program
Please understand–there is no magic bullet when it comes to security. It is imperative that you consider this a journey and a challenge. But in the end you will have an improved security posture and be more confident that you have plans in place to address a security incident.
